What sports do Saudi Arabians play?
Both traditional and modern sport are popular in Saudi Arabia. The people of the Arabian Peninsula have enjoyed sports like camel racing for thousands of years. A modern sport that is very popular in Saudi Arabia is soccer. They have a professional soccer league and they play in a tournament called the King's Cup. Also Saudi Arabia have a lot of first class golf courses. When they were introduced to golf in the 1940s they created courses of their own use a special mixture with oil and sand to keep the course from blowing away.
What type of clothes/garments Saudi Arabians wear?
Male Dress
-A Thobe is a loose, long sleeved ankle length garment.
-The Tagiyah is a white knitted skull cap
- The Ghutra is a square scarf, made of cotton or silk, which is worn folded across the head over the Tagiyah.
-The Agal is a black cord which is worn on top of the Ghutra to hold it in place.
Female Dress
-They where a thobe-a loose, long-sleeved, ankle-length garment, but, the neck and front can be decorated with beads.
-The Abaya is a black cloak, worn either loose or wrapped around the body. The Abaya is generally made of silk or synthetic cloth.
-The Boshiya is a black veil, light in weight, worn across the lower part of the face.
-The Surwal are cotton or silk trousers worn by women under the Thobe.
